   Mission statement 

P.I.P.P.A. is run by the disabled to provide information, advice and support for the disabled, their families and carers.

We provide two services: wheelchair and equipment hire, and information for the disabled. The two services work together under one roof, in The Basement, The Registry Office, Tower Hill, Haverfordwest SA61 1SS.

A few highlights (and lowlights) of 2007-2010

  • In March 2010 Alice arrived and has been working on the website. If you have an idea for something you'd like to see written about, please let us know.
  • On 1st October 2009 our two services, Information and Wheelchair Hire, moved together under one roof to the current address.
  • In summer 2009 Gareth won two second place awards for volunteer services!
  • Gill Flather, our treasurer for 4 years, left us as her husband was reposted.

Timeline 1993-2007

  • 2007 - We were visted by the General Manager, Mr Mohammad Al Khaldy and the Commercial Manager, Mr Mohammad Al Naimi, of South Hook LNG to present us with a cheque for £2,000.
  • 2006 - We were given a generous donation of £1,000 by South Hook LNG, and our Chairman Beryl Thomas-Cleaver and Secretary, Nicola Legg, were shown round the South Hook Construction Site
  • 2003 - September - Cheque for £800.00 from RAOB
  • 2003 - July - Open day held
  • 2002 - Power trikes purchased
  • 2001 - December - United Nations Year of the Volunteer. Certificate from Haverfordwest Town Council received.
  • 2001 - June - We connect to the internet
  • 2001 - January - Brian and Carol Hilliard retire
  • 2000 - July - H.O.T.T. Directory published. Also two scooters purchased for the Coach House.
  • 2000 - January - Orange Badge becomes Blue Badge
  • 1999 - March - Work on H.O.T.T. Directory begins
  • 1998 - June - Green Pages published
  • 1997 - August - Wheelchair Hire Scheme at County Show begins
  • 1997 - March - Administration of Orange Badge Scheme begins
  • 1996 - September - A new vehicle was purchased with a grant from Comic Relief
  • 1996 - The opening of the Coach House and the advent of the Wheelchair Hire Scheme
  • 1995 - April - Green Pages project launched. Links with CATCHUP, CARIAD and Dyfed Association for the Disabled
  • 1994 - May - Moved into Meadow Park
  • 1994 - January - First P.I.P.P.A. Post published
  • 1993 - 4th December - First AGM
  • 1993 - P.I.P.P.A. formed
