Equipment Directory
Welcome to E-Quip-U, our directory of other mobility equipment providers in Pembrokeshire. If we don’t have the equipment you require, you may find it here.
There are three ways to get hold of mobility equipment: from a business, from a charity, or from a government organisation including Social Services.
This directory will highlight whether the equipment is loaned, hired, or sold.
PIPPA is not responsible for the content of external websites and cannot guarantee the availability of the equipment listed by other parties.

The Paul Sartori Foundation works with the terminally ill. They usually only loan equipment to existing recipients of their care, or those they know are in need. They ask you first to contact SHAPES (see "A note on long term hire", below) to request the items you need, and try to fill in if these items are unavailable.
As these items are in high demand, the above list changes all the time and all loans should be regarded as short term. If your item is small enough, they ask that you or someone you know comes to Paul Sartori between 9:30 and 4:00 Monday to Friday to collect it.
With businesses and national organisations, there is too much equipment to list. We will try to summarise, but you will have to search their websites! There is generally a button or box to do this.

A note on long term hire
If you need to hire equipment for the long term, we will do our best to help and there may be discretionary discounts available. However, it can still get expensive, so we recommend finding out if you are entitled to free equipment.
To get free equipment you will usually need an assessment by Social Services. You can find out more about the assessments and services provided by the Council at the following pages:
- Disability Living Foundation (nationwide - see National Charities)
Once you have had an assessment, you are eligible to receive equipment from SHAPES and the Paul Sartori Foundation.
SHAPES stands for Social Health Alliance Pembrokeshire Equipment Service. It is run by the NHS, Social Services, and the voluntary sector. You need an assessment to qualify for equipment from Shapes and also usually for the Paul Sartori Foundation. This can be done in hospital if you are there, and otherwise you will be visited by a professional at home. If you think you need an assessment, please contact the Council or the district nurse at your GP surgery.
